In the popular manga (Kenja no Mago) magic has saved humanity countless times. The protagonist, Shin, retained memories of his past life and was adopted by an old magician known as the “Magi.” The Magi raised Shin as his grandson. With recollections of his previous existence, Shin quickly mastered magic under the Magi’s tutelage and even developed his own spells. However, on Shin’s 15th birthday,
the Magi informed him that it was time for Shin to live independently.
“Ah, I forgot to teach him social skills,” the Magi realized. Shin, who had surpassed normal humans, lacked common sense and the ability to interact with others.
As a result, in order to learn socialization, Shin decided to enroll in Earlshide Kingdom’s Advanced Magic Academy, as depicted in (Kenja no Mago). At the academy, Shin hoped to acquire the communication skills and general knowledge that the (Magi) had neglected to impart.
Shin discovered that the academy’s curriculum included both standard magical subjects as well as general education courses. In his classes, Shin learned about history, math, and science in addition to spells and potions. However, Shin initially struggled with interacting politely in social situations due to homeschooling by the (Magi) Consequently, Shin’s conversations were often awkward or rude.
Fortunately, Shin’s instructors and peers at the academy helped Shin develop better communication skills through casual exchanges in and out of the classroom. Shin learned how to start an engaging discussion, disagree courteously, and speak confidently in front of groups. Over time, Shin became quite articulate and charismatic.
By the end of Shin’s first year at the academy, he had caught up to his peers in etiquette and social graces thanks to the guidance of his instructors and fellow students. Shin was no longer the socially awkward boy who had first arrived at the academy. With a combination of magical talent, a strong education, and improved interpersonal skills, Shin was set to become a prominent figure in the kingdom. Overall, attending the Earlshide Kingdom’s Advanced Magic Academy had transformed Shin into a well-rounded magician and leader.
